Woke up this morning to an O2 Sat that barely hit 93%. Looking out the front door there is a stream of smoke stretching from the Santa Catalina mountains down through the I-19 valley corridor where it can be enjoyed by all the senior citizens in the retirement city of Green Valley.

Air quality hasn't been great in the 'hood lately to begin with. But what the AQI doesn't account for are the dust devils that pick up a ton of real estate and deposit it on your car, the front porch and any other place it's inconvenient to clean up.

Not to be confused with Sparky, ASU's Sun Devil which caused consternation when Pope John Paul II visited Phoenix and celebrated mass for 75,000 at Sun Devil Stadium. All references to Sparky had to be covered up and more sedate versions of the trident without the devilish desert denizen are the norm now.
